Equipment
Phototherapy

 

A vital part of any dermatology practice and an essential service in all major hospitals, phototherapy is indespensible for the treatment of Psoriasis, Eczema, Vitiligo and a host of responsive conditions.

 

SkinTECH can assist in your choice of phototherapy equipment and provide the support necessary to get your phototherapy services on the road.

 

Patch Testing​

 

Determining the cause of an eczema and the resulting improvement in the eczema by elimination of the cause can be hugely rewarding for both patient and doctor. Patch testing is indicated in any patient suspected of having an allergic contact dermatitis.

 

Chemotechnique Diagnostics from Sweden provided over 550 Haptens for testing.

Skin Cooler

 

A device used to cool the skin during cosmetic and medical procedures. The roller is made up of special steel which remains cold for up to 2 hours after removing from the freezer.

 

Supply to your patients to use at home after laser resurfacing, hair removal or microdermabrasion. 

 

Dermoscopy

 

3GEN is a world leader in dermatoscope manufacture, providing the innovative polarised feature which allows visualisation of pigment and vascular structures without the use of fluid, with or without skin contact.

 

For those who are used to traditional fluid based dermoscopy, that is available too.

 

Several models attach to cameras. Images may be stored and retrieved using the DermLite app.

Drionic​

 

Available for the hands and feet  or the axille, the drionic operates with tap water. Half an hour per day is all you need per day. Sweating usually stops within two weeks.

 

The device is packed in pairs, treating both hand or both feet at the same time. The design of axillary unit differs from that of the hands and feet unit due to the anatomical difference between the axillae and the hands and feet.

Vibration anaesthesia

 

A device small enough to hold in one hand during injection of local anaesthetic, bleomycin, candida antigen, intralesional steroids etc.

 

Once used, you will never give another injection without it. Your patients will ask you to use it.

Cryogenics

 

From cryogenic spray devices (CryAC) to dewars and a wide range of accessories in between. Standard spray tips are provided with the device. A large selection of additional tips is available.

 

Store your liquid nitrogen safely in specially designed dewars. Avoid contamination and protect your patient by not dipping a cotton bud repeatedly into a liquid nitrogen flask. CryACs are availble in two sizes.

Woods Light​

 

An indepsensible tool for examation of tinea captitis, pityriasis versicolor, vitiligo and a host of other conditions.

 

Two models are available - one made by Philips Burton and the other by 3 Gen.

ExSys 308

 

The latest offering from SkinTECH, manufactured by GME in Germany, is the ExSys 308 Excimer Light used in the treatment of psoriasis, eczema and vitiligo.

 

ExSys incorporates the very latest scientific innovations in the manufacture of this device, providing a user friendly intuitive interface. The handpiece is light in weight and comportable for the operator.

 

Products
MediPatch

 

Small hydrocolloid plasters designed to absorb secretions from acne lesions.

 

The patches are transparent and may be worn under make-up.

 

MediPatch is an ideal dressing for small wounds eg. following shave excision of moles. Patients also find them useful for burns, cuts and insect bites.

​

 

Viticolor

 

Viticolor is a dye used to colour patches of vitiligo. Apply Viticolor once, then wait for 8hours and reapply until a colour match is obtained. Thereafter, apply the dye about two or three times a week.

 

Scar Smooth

 

Pure medical grade silicone for the treatment of hypertrophic scars and keloids. The patch is self adhesive and reapplied for 12 hours each day.

 

Scar Smooth may be used with other treatments for keloids eg. intralesional steroids.

 

Use Scar Smooth in keloid prone individuals after surgery once sutures have been removed.

Aknicare

 

A product range for acne that reduces the biofilm produced by P acnes. Special formulations are available for acne on the back.

Vitix

 

Vitix Gel is used for repigmentation of vitiligo patches. Apply the gel twice a day on the affected areas. 

 

Clinical studies show that combining Vitix Gel with phototherapy or sun exposure increases the chances of repigmentation by 50%

Enerpeel

 

A range of chemical peels including Glycolic, Mandelic, Pyruvic, Salacylic and trichloroacetic acids.

 

The peels are attractively and individually packed for single patient use.

Disposables
Kai Biopsy Punch

 

Made by Kai in Japan, Kai biopsy punches are well known for their incredible sharpness and seamless design. 

 

Two models are availalbe - with or without plunger. The plunger punches allow for tissue to be easily extracted from the lumen of the punch - a feature which is particulary useful in smaller sized punches.

 

Nokor needle

 

The tibevelled needle with a cutting edge, used for subcision of acne scars.

​

 

Kai Curette

 

Several sizes of curettes are available from Kai. This makes possible curettage of very small lesions found in awkward places.

Skin Marking Pens

 

Mark out skin lesions before surgery. Available in permanent (prep resistant) or non-permanent ink.

 

For facial lesions, non-permanent is preferable.

 

Ideal for Botox, fillers, liposuction, marking out moles for mole mapping and for excision of malignant and premalignant tumours.

Kai Biopsy Blade

 

The best tool for shave excisions and shave biopsy, the blade is fully customisable by bending it to provide the appropriate angle for a chosen depth. The unique design allows for considerable bending without breaking.

Colour codes punches

 

Due to requests from dermatologists, SkinTECH is pleased to offer colour coded biopsy punches, aiding their easy identification during procedures.  Each size is in a different colour, avoiding the error of selecting the wrong size of punch for a chosen procedure.
