Patch Testing.

 

Chemotechnique Diagnostics in Sweden provide the largest number of patch test haptens in the world. Basic series such as the European Patch Test Series or the International Patch Test Series provide a fixed number of haptens. Additional haptens may be obtained and applied subsequently.

1. Patch test haptens.

 

A range of over 550 haptens is provided by Chemotechnique Diagnostics. The haptens are supplied in trays in groups of 10. 

4. Attachment of IQ chambers.

 

Depending on the number of haptens being tested for, the number of strips of IQ chambers may vary from 3 to 5. The tests are left on for 48 hors

2. IQ chambers.

 

Haptens are inserted into individual IQ chambers. There are 10 chambers to a strip. The filled chambers are attached to the back

3. Application Tray.

 

An application tray may be used to fill the IQ chambers. Tests for 5 patients may be prepared at the same time.

5. Reading the Test.

 

After 48 hours, the test haptens are removed and the back checked for signs of an allergic reaction. In the above example, nickel and cobalt are positive.

6. Reading plate.

 

A template is provided to easily read the test. Samples of pictures of grades of positivity are provided on the reading plate.
